Summer Wedding Suit
One of the often overlooked but exceptionally easy to wear pieces in any man’s wardrobe is the cardigan sweater. When lightweight enough, it’s easy to wear layered under a jacket, but can also be implemented as a stand-alone item. Though a solid navy or gray is the classic option, sometimes it’s nice to mix it up with a unique pattern such as the cashmere one from Ballantyne pictured above. Manufactured entirely in Italy, it boasts a contrast placket with mother of pearl buttons, and we’ve paired it with a wool bow tie, check shirt, brown suede belt and burgundy brushed cotton chinos.
devilforarucksack asked: i have a question for you! firstly, fucking love your blog SO MUCH so happy i came across it. my question is i have a light beige (its kinda yellow mustard type colour) waistcoat, and i can't seem to find a good coloued shirt or jacket to go with it. any suggestions??
My biggest tip for you would be: go patterned. At least for the shirt.
A quick google search shows that blue gingham is a popular choice for the color you’re describing:
This guy is definitely rocking it.
Blues and whites seem like a popular choice.
A good neutral colored jacket can be interesting if you pair it with the right shirt, vest, and tie. The tie might be a good way to tie everything together in your case, haha.
It’s not a vest, but I think the purple in this guy’s tie works well with the pants:
And again, lots of pattern adding interest.
Of the colors I’m seeing, I’m liking the blues that are closer to teal. There are some good reds too.
The key overall is to not go too vibrant I think. Muted, darker tones can still be colorful and interesting.
These guys are killing it:
2 different versions of the same thing there, I guess.
Basically? Take your vest. Go to a store and try stuff on with it. If you want, pick a store that you can’t afford. The point is to see what you like. Try things you think will work, try things you think might not work. Sometimes you might not see it until you put it on.
And take pictures if you can! Or bring someone else with you! And don’t neglect your neckwear. ^_~ Good luck!
